Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Speccy Pro features and security.
Is Speccy Pro safe to use?
Yes. Speccy Pro is developed by Piriform, a trusted name in system utilities. All our installers and binaries are digitally signed. We do not bundle adware or malware. If your antivirus flags Speccy Pro, it is likely a false positive due to the low-level hardware access required for monitoring.
Does Speccy Pro collect my personal data?
No. Speccy Pro operates locally on your machine. We do not upload your system specifications to the cloud unless you explicitly choose to "Publish Snapshot" to share a link. Even then, no personally identifiable information (like passwords or browser history) is collected.
What features are included in Speccy Pro?
Speccy Pro includes detailed hardware specs, real‑time temperature monitoring, and snapshot exporting. It’s a single, complete version designed for both enthusiasts and professionals.
Does Speccy Pro support Windows 11?
Yes, Speccy Pro is fully compatible with Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8.1, and Windows 7. We support both 32‑bit and 64‑bit architectures, as well as ARM64 devices.
How can I share my system specs?
You can save a snapshot (`.speccy`), export to XML, or save as a text file. For the easiest sharing, use the "Publish Snapshot" feature to generate a unique URL that you can paste into emails or forum posts.
How can I download and install Speccy Pro?
Go to the Download page to get the latest version. Run the installer and follow on‑screen steps; a Portable build is also available if you prefer no installation.
How can I see the temperature of my PC’s components?
Open the Temperatures section to view real-time readings for CPU, GPU, and drives. You can keep this view open while stress testing to watch for thermal throttling.
Why does Speccy Pro sometimes show inaccurate hardware specs?
This can happen with outdated drivers or uncommon chipsets. Update your chipset, storage, and GPU drivers, and confirm BIOS/UEFI is current. If the issue persists, check Guides for model-specific notes.
How do I troubleshoot errors in Speccy Pro?
Restart the app, update to the latest version, and check Windows services related to sensors. For specific errors, see Guides for step-by-step fixes.
Can I export my system information from Speccy Pro?
Yes. Export to XML or text for documentation, or save a Speccy snapshot to reload later or share with support.
How do I uninstall Speccy Pro?
Go to Control Panel → Programs and Features, select Speccy Pro, and choose Uninstall. Follow the prompts to complete removal.
Can I use Speccy Pro on multiple computers?
You can install Speccy Pro on multiple PCs for personal use. For business environments, please refer to our documentation or contact support.
